This photographer likes to use the thirds rule in his photos. He puts the main focus point in the exact middle of the photo. For example, with a mountain he would position the mountain in the middle. With the sky and ground on the other 1/3's. All of his pictures are of landscapes of nature.

He was trying to show how beautiful nature is. He was trying to show that by taking really pretty pictures of different kinds of nature. Such as mountains, rivers, lakes, trees, rock arches, etc. I think he fell in love with nature when he was little and now he tries to capture it for others.
5. Influences: (5 sentences. How has the photographer influenced you in your work?) His photography influenced me because it makes me think about the lighting and positioning in each photo that I take. It makes me think about that because all of his pictures the lighting is very good. There's no bright lights. Most of his pictures have really pretty skies. It makes me think about positioning because his pictures are all in align and he follows the thirds rule.

My photos are very simular to Galen's because we went to the same place. I went on a road trip to Utah, Colorado, and South Dakota. I tried to capture the same angles, colors, and shapes of what Rowell took. With the first one, I found a landscape that looked exactly like a painting, and he did too. So that worked out very well. I also copied his pictures of red rocks that had about the same shapes.
